Police: Hartford Woman, 39, Charged With Assault After Striking Roommate In Head With Iron
HARTFORD — A 39-year-old city woman was arrested on assault charges after hitting another woman, a roommate, in the head with an iron during a fight Friday afternoon, police said.
Officers responded to the woman’s Hudson Street apartment shortly before 4 p.m. after someone reported that a fight had broken out inside. Police said Jennifer Harvey and a female resident had gotten into a physical altercation inside the apartment they periodically shared with a male acquaintance.
It appeared Harvey hit her female roommate with an iron, police said. Responding officers found the roommate suffering from a “severe” laceration to her arm and a head wound. Police said the woman was taken to Hartford Hospital with life threatening injuries.
She was last listed in stable condition.
The male roommate, who received minor injuries while he was trying to break up the fight, was also taken to Hartford Hospital.
Harvey suffered a minor cut to her hand and declined medical treatment. She was charged with first-degree assault.
